Kamruzzaman Receives ‘Community Journalism Award’ in New York

Md Kamruzzaman, widely known as Babu Kamruzzaman Special Correspondent at News24 Television, has been honored with the Community Journalism Award by the World Human Rights Development (WHRD) USA for his outstanding contributions to journalism within the Bangladeshi diaspora and global media community.

The award was presented on May 25, 2025, at the opening ceremony of the 15th annual Pothomela (Street Festival) held in Jackson Heights, New York. The crest and certificate of recognition were handed over by WHRD President Shah Shahidul Haque, co-organizer Dr Enamul Haque, and other prominent community leaders.

Kamruzzaman, known for his in-depth television reporting on economic and social issues, has previously received accolades including the ERF Best Reporting Award, the AmCham Frontline Journalism Award, and the ActionAid Young Media Fellowship (2021).
