The ‘Nazrul Concert’ was scheduled to be held on May 30 to mark the release of a special album composed of 10 inspiring songs by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. However, it will be held a day later on May 31, according to the Kabi Nazrul Institute.
The institute’s executive director Latiful Islam Shibli told the media, “The ‘Nazrul Concert’ has been postponed by a day as a tribute to martyred President Ziaur Rahman. It will be held on May 31 at 5 pm.”
‘Nazrul Concert’ is being organized to mark the release of a special album, which will feature 10 of Nazrul’s struggle and motivational songs. The songs of the album are being newly arranged by 10 famous bands of the country - ‘Souls’, ‘Dalchut’, ‘warfaze’, ‘Ark’, ‘Shironamhin’, ‘MNB’, ‘Rebel’, ‘Black’, ‘F Minor’ and ‘Different Touch’.
This concert, to be held at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka, will be open to the public, meaning everyone can enjoy it for free.
The songs included in the album are: ‘Tora Shob Joydhvoni Kor’, ‘Jago Onosan-Bondi’, ‘Karar Oi Louho Kopat’, ‘Ei Shikol Pora Chhol’, ‘Durgom Giri, Kantar-Maru’, ‘Bajiche Damama’, ‘Parodeshi Megh’, ‘Joy Hok Joy Hok’, ‘O Bhai Khati Shonar Cheye Khati’ and ‘Mora Jhonjhar Moto Uddam’.
These songs will also be published on the Nazrul Institute’s website and social media.
