DHAKA, – President M Abdul Hamid today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Kilo Flight Pilot during the Great Liberation War and valiant Freedom Fighter Captain Akram Ahmed Bir Uttam.

In a condolence message, President Hamid recalled Akram Ahmed’s heroic role that helped accelerate the victory of Bangladesh in the Great War of Liberation.

“The nation will remember his contribution to the Liberation War forever with due respect,” he added.

The head of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family. Akram Ahmed breathed his last at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka on Monday morning at the age of 74.
