Information and Broadcasting Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh Md. Mahfuz Alam met with Turkish Minister of Women and Family Planning Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 'Antalya Diplomacy Forum, 2025' in Turkiye on Sunday (April 13). The development of the socio-economic conditions of women in Turkiye and Bangladesh was discussed in the meeting. At this time, Advisor Mahfuj Alam said that the government is working to remove the obstacles to women's empowerment in Bangladesh. The government has taken multifaceted initiatives including training and providing loans to ensure employment for women. The advisor said that the government is taking a strict stance in preventing violence against women.

During the meeting, Turkish Minister of Women and Family Planning Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas said that the Turkish government will assist in the socio-economic advancement of women in Bangladesh. She expressed her hopes for Bangladeshi women to thrive in their careers.
