Md Jahidul Islam’s ‘Adhunik Chor’ on Eid

TBT Desk: There are many types of thieves around us. Householders are also adopting various strategies to catch the thieves. But thieves are not sitting still. Those thieves are also constantly creating new techniques on how to steal without any risk. Just such a thief can be found in the story of the Eid special drama “Adhunik Chor” (Modern Thief) written by journalist and playwright Md Jahidul Islam and directed by producer Naznin Hasan Khan.

Actor Tariq Swapan plays the role of main thief while Ankhi Chowdhury is his associate in the play. KaziRaju, Saika Ahmed, Farid Hossain, Ricky Rafat, AB Rashid and others will also be seen in the play.

About the play, journalist and playwright MdJahidul Islam said, “Although stealing is a crime, this theft is also a kind of art. When everything in the world is moving forward, why should this industry of theft lag behind? With such a concept, NotoborLal (Tariq Swapan) and Doris (Ankhi Chowdhury) adopt modern theft techniques. Strategically, NotoborLaland Doris think that they are the best thieves in the world. I have written the drama based on some incidents that happened in the lives of Notobor and Doris. I hope the audience will like the drama.”

Director Naznin Khan said, “The story of the drama is very nice. Thieves try to adapt to modernity by changing their style of theft. I became excited to make it after hearing the concept of the story. I hope the audience will find something new in this story.”

According to MdJahidul Islam the play will be aired on a private television channel during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitrfestival.
