Govt decides to appoint judges through Special Judicial Service Commission: Rizwana 

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today said the interim government has decided to appoint judges through Special Judicial Service 
Commission.

“…decision has been taken to start a process soon to appoint some judges through Special Judicial 
Service Commission aiming to expedite the trial of rape and other cases,” she told a press briefing at 
the Foreign Service Academy here after a special meeting of the council of advisers held at the Chief 
Adviser’s Office here.

Rizwana said there is only one DNA laboratory in the country and that is why the government decided 
to set up two DNA labs in Chattogram and Rajshahi to test the samples of rape cases.

Besides, she said, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus instructed the advisers responsible to 
continue monitoring the prices of goods to keep market stable.

Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were also present at the 
press briefing.
