'Jinn 3' starring Shajal, Nusraat Faria in the works

TBT REPORT : Starring Abdun Noor Shajal and Nusraat Faria, "Jinn 3" is currently in production under the direction of Kamruzzaman Roman. The film commenced shooting earlier this month in Munshiganj, with the cast and crew returning to Dhaka on Monday (February 17) after completing sequences in Nawabganj.
Jaaz Multimedia's "Jinn", which was released during Eid-ul-Fitr in 2023, sparked intrigue among audiences. Last year, the production house followed up with "Mona: Jinn 2", which also premiered during Eid.
Continuing the trend, "Jinn 3" is expected to hit theatres this coming Eid-ul-Fitr, confirmed director Kamruzzaman Roman. According to the director, filming will conclude before Ramadan with the shooting of two songs.
Speaking about the production, the director stated, "We wrapped up our sequence shoot on Monday (Febreuary 17). Only two songs remain to be filmed. After a two-day break, we will resume shooting, and everything will be completed before Ramadan. We are hopeful that the audience will be able to watch the film in cinemas this Eid-ul-Fitr."
Having previously directed "Jinn 2", Kamruzzaman Roman remains hopeful about the upcoming sequel. However, he prefers not to reveal details about the storyline just yet.
"I don't want to disclose the plot right now," he stated. "But 'Jinn 3' is crafted with the kind of horror elements audiences love to see on screen. There are plenty of surprises waiting in cinemas, and I believe viewers won't be disappointed."
In the first instalment, directed by Nader Chowdhury, Shajal starred opposite Puja Cherry. Although he was absent from the second instalment, he returns for "Jinn 3", considering it a challenge to surpass his previous performances.
To prepare for his role, the actor engaged in extensive rehearsals before filming. Determined to fully immerse himself in the character, Shajal has even taken a temporary break from television dramas to stay focused on the film.
Meanwhile, Nusraat Faria, who portrayed Sheikh Hasina in "Mujib: The Making of a Nation", faced criticism on social media for her role. Following the recent political shift, she has remained absent from new film projects for a while. With "Jinn 3", Faria aims to move forward, leaving behind past hurdles.
Additionally, this marks her return to Jaaz Multimedia after seven years. The last time she starred in a Jaaz production was in "Inspector Notty K", released in 2018.
Praising Shajal and Faria's performances in "Jinn 3", the director stated, "Both of them are giving their absolute best. As a filmmaker, I am truly impressed with their work. I hope the audience will leave the theatre just as mesmerised by their performances."
