TCB set to resume truck sales of subsidised essentials

TBT Desk: After being suspended for 1 month and 9 days, TCB has resumed selling essential commodities from trucks. This initiative has started in several locations across Dhaka metropolis and Chattogram. Cooking oil, lentils, sugar, chickpeas, and dates are being sold fairly.
From early morning, consumers have been queuing up to purchase these items. The operation is active at 50 locations in Dhaka and 20 in Chattogram.
Consumers can buy cooking oil at Tk 100 per litre, lentils at Tk 60 per kg, sugar at Tk 70 per kg, chickpeas at Tk 60 per kg, and half a kilogram of dates at Tk 155 from TCB trucks. Shoppers are pleased to be able to purchase goods at reasonable prices.
In light of the upcoming Ramadan, chickpeas and dates have been added to the list of available items.
Additionally, subsidised cooking oil and lentils are being distributed among low-income families who hold TCB smart cards.
Each consumer is allowed to purchase the specified quantities to ensure wider distribution among the populace.
TCB announced that the initiative will begin in Dhaka and Chittagong, with plans to expand to other divisional cities and select districts shortly.
Consumers are encouraged to queue at designated truck station points to avail themselves of these subsidised goods.
