Zambia invites Bangladesh for drug plant

Zambia has invited Bangladesh to explore the opportunities of establishing a pharmaceutical plant in its land while the southern African nation is keen to Bangladesh made pharmaceutical products.

The proposal was given when the newly appointed Zambian High Commissioner to Bangladesh (resident in New Delhi) Percy P. Chanda paid his maiden call on Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the foreign ministry here Thursday, a ministry press release today said.

During the meeting, the envoy conveyed interest in importing jute and jute products from Bangladesh while highlighting the potentials for Bangladesh to import copper from Zambia.

Both sides discussed matters of mutual interests, emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance trade cooperation.

They also explored potential areas including agriculture and contract farming for future collaboration between Zambia and Bangladesh, the release said.
