Korean Ambassador calls on DU VC

South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Lee Jang-Keun called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today, November 11, 2020 at the latter’s office of the university. Deputy Chief of Korean Embassy Mr. Cheol-sang KIM was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest especially regarding ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs at Dhaka University with the support of South Korea. They emphasized on further strengthening academic collaborations among Dhaka University, KOICA and South Korean universities.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman apprised the Ambassador of brief history and academic activities of Dhaka University. He said, South Korea is one of the leading development partners of Bangladesh. DU faculty members and students who pursued their higher education especially PhD Degree from South Korean universities would act as bridge between the two countries to enhance academic and socio-cultural relations, DU VC hoped.

Korean Ambassador Mr. Lee Jang-Keun said, South Korea and Bangladesh are two friendly countries and have been enjoying good relations for long time. He said that South Korea would provide more support to Korean Language courses at the Institute of Modern Languages, Center for Innovation Creativity and Entrepreneurship and other areas of interest of Dhaka University.

Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the South Korean Ambassador for his visit to and keen interest in strengthening academic collaborations with DU.
