Alhaj Professor Ashraf Ali no more

Eminent educationist and founding member of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Alhaj Professor Ashraf Ali, passed away at 4:00 AM, Sunday (January 5, 2025) while undergoing treatment in the ICU of LabAid Cancer Hospital in Dhaka (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Rajiun). He was 86 years old.

Professor Ashraf Ali was born on December 4, 1937, in Nalta, Satkhira district. A brilliant student of Nalta High School, he later pursued higher education at Dhaka University. He began his career as a teacher at Faujdarhat Cadet College and subsequently held various prestigious positions, including Associate Professor at Jhenaidah Cadet College, Vice-Principal at Cumilla Cadet College, Principal at Pabna Cadet College, Principal at Mymensingh Girls Cadet College, and Principal of Hermann Gmeiner College in Dhaka. Most recently, he served as Professor and Dean of Education faculty at Ahsanullah Science and Technology University, a press release said

Professor Ashraf Ali was a devoted admirer of the founder of the Ahsania Mission, Sufi saint Hazrat Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (R.), and an active member of Nalta Central Ahsania Mission.

At the time of his passing, he is survived by his three daughters and numerous admirers. Dhaka Ahsania Mission family is deeply saddened by his demise.

It is worth mentioning that the late Professor Ashraf Ali was the cousin of Engineer A. F. M. Golam Sharfuddin, General Secretary of Dhaka Ahsania Mission.
