No security threat over Victory Day: Home Adviser

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said there is no possible security threat to the law and order situation during the celebrations of the upcoming Victory Day.

"By the grace of Allah, there is no security threat to the law and order situation of the country on the Victory Day, as the day is not for any particular group or individual, but rather the day belongs to all people of the country," he said.

The adviser made these remarks while talking to journalists after coming out of a meeting at the conference room of the ministry this afternoon over the overall security measures and the law-order situation ahead of Victory Day.

Mentioning that the overall security measures for the Victory Day celebration with due dignity were discussed during the meeting, he categorically said currently there is no problem regarding the law and order situation.

The home adviser also asked all concerned to take necessary measures to ensure smooth vehicular movement on Victory Day.

He said the colour and shape of the national flag should not be different from one place to another.

To mark the day, all concerned have been requested to conduct meetings maintaining guidelines and standards set by the government, he added.
