Workshop on prevention of money laundering held in Cox's Bazar

TBT DESK: A day-long training workshop on "Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating the Financiering of Terrorism" was held in Cox's Bazar on Saturday. The training workshop took place at Hotel Sea Palace Ltd was jointly organised by Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) and Islamic Relief Bangladesh.

BFIU Joint Director Md Monirul Islam and Islamic Relief Bangladesh CFM and CAMLCO Mohammad Saiful Islam participated in the workshop. The training elaborates on effective policies and procedures to prevent money laundering ensure financial transparency and prevent terrorist financing.

Officials from the Bhasan Char, Ukhiya, and Cox's Bazar offices of the Humanitarian Crisis Response Program at Islamic Relief Bangladesh participated in an impactful workshop. The event provided participants with a valuable opportunity to strengthen their understanding and practical skills in the areas of Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism.

BFIU Deputy Director Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain was the resource person in the workshop. He said, through discussion and exchange of views in the workshop, practical examples and effective methods are highlighted, which makes this training more fruitful.

He also expressed hope that such initiatives would play an important role in preventing financial corruption and financing of terrorist activities.
