Muyeed sees logic for raising age limit for govt. job

Public Administration Reforms Commission Chief Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury has said he saw justification for increasing age of entry into the civil service.

“There is no doubt about the justification of increasing age-limit for entry into the government job,” he said this after a meeting with the job seekers of 35-year age at Bangladesh Secretariat today.

Muyeed Chowdhury said the committee constituted by the government has only one focus as a movement on the issue is going on for a long time.

“The committee will take decision considering the existing policies, future working plan and overall situation,” he said.

Replying to a question about the justification of increasing entry age into the government job, he said many aspirants faced problems due to the COVID-19 and the session jam.

So, age limit for entry into the present government service should be increased, he observed.

The interim government constituted the five-member committee on Monday to review the current age limit for entry into government jobs. The committee has been asked to submit recommendations within seven days.
