Bangladesh to play three ODIs against Afghans in Nov

The Afghanistan Cricket team will host Bangladesh for three one-day Internationals in United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month, confirmed the country's cricket board today.

"Afghan national cricket team will play one day international matches with Bangladesh national team on 6th, 9th and 11th of November 2024 which will be hosted by Afghanistan in UAE," Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a social media post.

UAE serves as one of the home venues for the Afghan cricket team. All of the matches will be held in Sharjah.

This will be first bilateral ODI series between the two sides, hosted by Afghanistan. The two teams so far played 16 matches, with Bangladesh winning 10 and losing 6.

The BCB president Faruque Ahmed earlier said he feels that the three ODIs will be considered as a preparation for the Champions Trophy in 2025.

"We are trying to play three ODIs on our way to West Indies," Faruque Ahmed told the reporters on Thursday after a board of directors' meeting at BCB headquarter at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Bangladesh have a packed Test scheduled in this year but in comparison, they were slated for just three ODIs en route to the Champions Trophy, hosted by Pakistan.

These three ODIs were scheduled against West Indies where they will play a full bilateral series in November-December.
