Pubudu Fernando, Cluster General Manager, Sayeman Beach Resort & Sayeman Heritage seen receiving award for South Asia’s Best General Manager at South Asian Travel Awards 2024
Sayeman Beach Resort won the Silver Awards as the “Leading Beach Resort” in Bangladesh and Sayeman Heritage won “Leading Heritage Hotel” award in Bangladesh respectively.
Furthermore, both hotel’s Cluster General Manager Pubudu Fernando won the Gold Award as South Asia’s Best General Manager 2024. Mr. Fernando joined at Sayeman Beach Resort on 2013 as pre-opening General Manager. Within very short period, he turns on world top class guest service into the hotel and it became Cox's Bazar travelers first choice. Still Sayeman Beach Resort is the leading hotel in Cox's Bazar.
The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) has been recognizing the best of South Asia’s hospitality and travel industry since 2016. The SATA is endorsed by over 18 tourism organizations and bodies across the region, underscoring its credibility and significance in the travel sector.
With over 400 nominations submitted for this edition, competition was notably fierce. The event was honored by the presence of the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey, along with Mr. Deepak Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). Board members of NTB and prominent figures from Nepal's travel industry also attended, contributing to a grand celebration of excellence in South Asian hospitality.
SATA 2024 was held in Kathmandu with the support of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN).
Each year, the awards ceremony and gala dinner is attended by some of the industry’s most renowned personalities, which makes the awards a truly star-studded event.
