Rasel Ahmed, a name synonymous with excellence in the Bangladeshi dance industry, continues to captivate audiences both nationally and internationally. Rasel Ahmed discovered his passion for dance at the tender age of five. Over the years, he honed his craft under the mentorship of renowned dance gurus such as Shibli Mohammad, ShamimAraNipa, and Sharmila Banerjee, excelling in traditional Bangla folk dance, Indian classical forms like Kathak and Bharatanatyam, as well as contemporary dance. His dedication paid off when he was awarded the prestigious National Children's Award for Folk Dance in 2006 and again in 2008, where he also received recognition for classical dance.
Rasel's career highlights include winning the Bangladesh Television Dance Competition, Tarana, in both 2010 and 2011, and being a finalist in Channel I SheraNachiye, the biggest dance reality show in Bangladesh, in 2012. In addition to his accolades as a performer, Rasel also took on the role of choreographer for SheraNachiye in 2014, further showcasing his talents in dance composition and direction.
Beyond his success on television, Rasel has become a respected figure on the stage. He has performed in numerous prestigious events, including the opening and closing ceremonies of the Father of the Nation's 100-Year Celebration in 2020 and 2021, as well as the Bangladesh Games and South Asian Games. His performances at the Bengal Classical Music Festival in 2016 and 2017 were met with critical acclaim.
As a government delegate, Rasel has represented Bangladesh in cultural exchange programs in over 14 countries, including Japan, Mexico, France, and India, bringing the rich heritage of Bangladeshi dance to an international audience. He continues to inspire the next generation of dancers as a dance teacher at NupurNikkon Dance Academy and Nrityanchal Dance Company.
