87 individuals and organizations get BASIS Outsourcing Award 2020

DHAKA, – Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has conferred 87 `BASIS Outsourcing Award 2020’ to individual and organizations for their outstanding contribution in outsourcing jobs.

Of the total awards 7 goes to outsourcing institution section, 7 to start up section, 16 to export excellence section, 54 to districts, 3 to women section, said a press release today.

LICT Project, Bank Asia and IBPC were the sponsors of the 6th `BASIS Outsourcing Award 2020’ award giving ceremony that was held at hotel Radisson on Saturday (17 Oct 2020).

Private Industry and Investment Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Salman Fazlur Rahman, President of parliamentary standing committee on ICT affairs A K M Rahmatullah, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, LICT Project Director Md Rezaul Karim and Policy Adviser Sami Ahmed, President of BASIS Syed Almas Kabir, ICT industry leaders and businesses were present at the function.

Addressing as the chief guest Salman Rahman said the government has been expanding ICT up to unions to improve the livelihood of people.

“It already ensures broadband internet connectivity to 3800 unions and the rest of the unions would get the same soon,” he said putting emphasis on skill development and enhancing export for the flourishing ICT sector.

“Bangladesh is no more a bottomless basket… it is now a country of fastest growing economy,” Rahmatullah said and added Bangladesh is implementing Digital Bangladesh under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Palak said ICT Division will issue virtual cards to the freelancers for upgrading their position in the society and provide various facilities to them.
