{"id":37746,"date":"2026-09-27T12:12:03","date_gmt":"2026-09-27T12:12:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=37746"},"modified":"2026-09-27T12:13:07","modified_gmt":"2026-09-27T12:13:07","slug":"cantonments-ex-oc-faces-investigation-departmental-proceedings-home-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=37746","title":{"rendered":"Cantonment's ex-OC faces investigation, departmental proceedings: Home Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed today said the\u00a0former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cantonment Police Station is facing an\u00a0<br>investigation and departmental proceedings over a viral incident.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Speaking to reporters at his ministry in the Bangladesh Secretariat here, the\u00a0home minister said the former OC had been investigated and forensic\u00a0examinations had also been conducted in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"In a viral incident, an investigation and forensic examination were\u00a0conducted against the former OC of Cantonment Police Station. One or two\u00a0agencies carried out the investigation,\" Ahmed said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said a case had been filed against the former police officer and\u00a0departmental proceedings were underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former OC had also been accused in a sedition case involving an alleged\u00a0criminal offence and had been arrested, the minister continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ahmed said the transfer of an officer does not necessarily mark the end of\u00a0disciplinary action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Transfers are made for administrative reasons, negligence of duty, or when\u00a0involvement in something is found.
