Roger Waters has launched a scathing attack on Ed Sheeran, branding the British singer a \u201clittle prick\u201d after rapper Macklemore was dropped from Sheeran\u2019s US Loop Tour for voicing support for Palestinians in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former Pink Floyd frontman made the remarks in an Instagram video on Tuesday night, according to Rolling Stone. Over a clip of his cover of \u201cWe Shall Overcome\u201d and the words \u201cEd Who?\u201d, Waters praised Macklemore for \u201cdoing the right thing\u201d and condemned Sheeran for the opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\u2019s two kinds of people in this world,\u201d Waters said. \u201cThere\u2019s people who do the right thing, that rapper Macklemore would be one of those people, and there\u2019s people, many of them sadly little\u2026 pricks like you who do the wrong thing. Goodbye.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Macklemore was removed from the tour after venues threatened cancellations over his performances, during which he shouted \u201cfree Palestine\u201d and displayed images of destruction in Gaza. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly pressed stadium owners to bar the rapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Macklemore has since pledged to donate his $1 million in net tour earnings to six organisations supporting Palestinians, inviting Kraft to match the sum. Kraft\u2019s representative declined to comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Supporting acts Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Beoga have withdrawn in solidarity. Sheeran insisted he had no role in the decision, saying it rested with promoters and venues, and that he preferred to remain neutral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
