Ziaur Rahman Foundation Vice- President Dr Zubaida Rahman today visited \u2018Blue Sky\u2019, a Bangladesh Air Force-run school for children with special needs, and observed its educational, therapeutic and developmental activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She visited the school this morning and was welcomed as the chief guest by President of Bangladesh Air Force Women\u2019s Welfare Association (BAFWWA) and Others Women and Children Club (OWCC) Saleha Khan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students of Blue Sky School welcomed Zubaida Rahman with flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, Zubaida Rahman, also wife of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, went around different classrooms and observed various activities being conducted for the overall development of children with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also visited the school\u2019s hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology and music therapy facilities, along with other developmental activities for children with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The school principal briefed Zubaida Rahman about its education and technical training programmes, therapy facilities, medical emergency arrangements and overall activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 28 specially trained teachers and therapists are working at the school with the aim of helping the children lead healthy and normal lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Established by BAFWWA in 2021, the school maintains a ratio of one teacher and one sister or brother for every five students, providing individual care and support to the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides, some assistant therapists have also been appointed under the technical education programme to provide training to children with special needs and help them become economically self-reliant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, Dr Zubaida Rahman visited BAFWWA Crafts and Boutique, the long-term training project and the training activities of BAFWWA Industrial Home under the BAFWWA Corner. She observed various handicraft products made by the trainees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of her visit, Zubaida Rahman attended a cultural programme arranged with the participation of students of Blue Sky School and BAFWWA Golden Eagle Nursery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The children with special needs performed songs, dances, a fashion show and other items before the chief guest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zubaida Rahman highly appreciated the humanitarian initiatives of BAFWWA in providing education and therapy facilities to children with special needs and helping women become self-reliant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, the students of Blue Sky School joined Zubaida Rahman in a photo session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On behalf of BAFWWA and OWCC, she was presented with a memento and a special gift\u2014a portrait of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BAFWWA and OWCC Saleha Khan delivered the welcome address at the programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A video highlighting the activities of BAFWWA and Blue Sky School was also screened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Principal of Blue Sky School Group Captain Mohammad Nur Ullah (PSC) spoke at the programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Administration), vice presidents of the BAFWWA central committee, representatives of BAFWWA\u2019s AK Khandker and Bashar branches, and senior officials of the Bangladesh Air Force were present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
