K-pop star Lisa was met by piercing screams from fans as she walked the red carpet at \u200bthe Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of her documentary, \u201cAlways Lalisa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lisa rose to fame as a member of the K-pop girl group Blackpink, and the film follows a year in her life after \u200btaking a break from the band to embark on \u200ba solo career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI just tried to find new things \u2014 like \u2060what can I do more than this?\u201d she told Reuters \u200bin an interview after the Friday premiere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The star, whose full name \u200bis Lalisa Manobal, said she initially thought a year would be long enough, but is still trying to figure out what she loves and her next challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlways Lalisa\u201d \u200bcaptures her triumphs and setbacks between 2024 and 2025, documenting \u200bthe release of her debut solo album \u201cAlter Ego,\u201d her acting debut in HBO\u2019s \u2060series \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d and preparations to perform on her own before huge crowds at the Coachella music festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The documentary was directed by Sue Kim, an executive producer on Apple TV\u2019s 2024 documentary \u200bseries \u201cK-Pop Idols.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is \u200bthis incredible opportunity \u2060to get to know someone who we\u2019re only ever given a very specific image of because \u200bof the music system that she comes from. \u200bWe get \u2060to have this unprecedented access, proximity and exposure to her ... It\u2019s not the world of K-pop,\u201d Kim told Reuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After Lisa\u2019s return to \u2060the \u200bgroup, Blackpink in February made a return \u200bwith the mini-album \u201cDEADLINE,\u201d their first release in more than three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlways Lalisa\u201d opens in cinemas on \u200b12 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
