{"id":36760,"date":"2026-09-06T13:02:41","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T13:02:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=36760"},"modified":"2026-09-06T13:02:42","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T13:02:42","slug":"president-arrives-in-thakurgaon-on-two-day-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=36760","title":{"rendered":"President arrives in Thakurgaon on two-day visit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has arrived in his home district Thakurgaon on a two-day visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President reached Thakurgaon at around 1 PM today by an air force helicopter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The helicopter carrying President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir landed at Mohammad Ali Stadium in Thakurgaon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President\u2019s wife Rahat Ara Begum, accompanied him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the helipad, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was welcomed by convener of the Citizens\u2019 Reception Committee Dr Khairul Kabir, president of Thakurgaon district BNP Mirza Faisal Amin, General Secretary Poygam Ali, President of Thakurgaon district BNP Mahila Dal Faratun Nahar Paris and senior government officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later, a smartly turned out contingent of Bangladesh Police accorded the President a guard of honour at Thakurgaon Circuit House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After inspecting the guard, the President went to Senua Cemetery to pay his respects at the graves of his parents.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After offering prayers at his parents' graves and participating in a munajat, he met with worshippers at a nearby mosque and inquired about their well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President later went to his residence in Thakurgaon town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the programme schedule, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend a citizens\u2019 reception at the Boromath of Thakurgaon Government Boys High School at 3:30 pm today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the second day of his visit tomorrow, he will lay the foundation stone of Thakurgaon University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has arrived in his home district Thakurgaon on a two-day visit.
