Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today joined a discussion organised to mark the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discussion began at around 3:45pm at Bangladesh Krishibid Institution auditorium in the capital with recitation from the Holy Quran, under the slogan, \u201cKorbo Kaj, Gorbo Desh, Shobar Age Bangladesh\u201d (We will work, build the country, Bangladesh first).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the outset, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and all martyrs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programme then featured the national anthem, followed by the party anthem. A documentary on the 48-year-old party was also screened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP on September 1, 1978.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The five-day central programme marking the party\u2019s founding anniversary, which began last Tuesday, will conclude today with the discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is presiding over the discussion. BNP Central Publicity Secretary and State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku is conducting the discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Economist Mahbub Ullah, BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Md Aman Ullah Aman, Farhad Haleem and Md Ismail Zabiullah are attending the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
