The Election Commission (EC) is preparing to begin the local government elections with Union Parishad polls in November, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud said here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are working with a target to hold the local government elections from November,\u201d he told Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the commission has already started preparations targeting November in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe election season is from November to April. This is considered an appropriate period for holding the elections. However, festivals such as Puja, Eid and Ramadan will have to be taken into consideration during the announcement of the election schedule,\u201d said the election commissioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
