Prime Minister\u2019s Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly today said establishing the dignity of every person in the state and society is the greatest achievement of the current government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe current government has moved away from the politics of flattery and glorification and has ushered in a new political culture\u201d he told a special views-exchange meeting at Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO) at Tejgaon here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was organized on the occasion of marking the six months, or 180 days, since the government assumed office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the government\u2019s 180-day assessment, Shibly also PMO spokesperson said the governments around the world generally have programmes associated with a 100-day \u2018honeymoon period,\u2019 which has become a conventional practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said it essentially takes at least six months to implement work plans and obtain initial results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman\u2019s government has started implementing each point of the election manifesto one by one just after assuming office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There has been no precedent in the past for implementing pre-election promises in such a systematic manner, he mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He described bringing qualitative changes in politics as one of the government\u2019s major achievements
Quoting the Prime Minister\u2019s remarks in Kishoreganj, Shibly said Bangladesh is emerging as a welfare state, where citizens have responsibilities toward the state, just as the state has equal responsibilities toward its citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the best of its ability, the state will stand beside people from every class and profession, he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To realize this vision, the Prime Minister, his office, and all concerned are working together with the spirit of \u2018Bangladesh first, Bangladesh for all.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shibly said the Prime Minister\u2019s personal presence at the home of an army officer who was killed in Mirpur in the past is proof that the government stands with the oppressed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister also likes to mingle with ordinary people, he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRecently, while traveling by bus, he noticed that the roads had been kept excessively empty. He immediately instructed the concerned authorities to ensure that ordinary people do not face any inconvenience in their travel in the future. A head of government moving around like an ordinary person and not considering himself separate from the people reflects a positive change in the new Bangladesh,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime Minister\u2019s Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly chaired the event which was attended by Prime Minister\u2019s Political Advisers Nazrul Islam Khan and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Public Administration Adviser Md Ismail Zabihullah, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, Prime Minister\u2019s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministers and advisers answered various questions from journalists at the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury, PM\u2019s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir, Prime Minister\u2019s Health Affairs Special Assistant S M Ziauddin Hyder, Principal Coordinator for SDG Affairs at PMO Professor Dr. S M Abdul-Awal were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
