{"id":35992,"date":"2026-08-09T16:32:30","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T16:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=35992"},"modified":"2026-08-09T16:32:31","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T16:32:31","slug":"don-arrested-from-shahjalal-airport-in-salman-shah-murder-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=35992","title":{"rendered":"Don arrested from Shahjalal Airport in Salman Shah murder case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TBT DESK<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Actor Ashraful Haque Don, known for playing villainous roles in Bangladeshi films, was arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder case of popular actor Salman Shah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around noon and later handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), according to reliable airport sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salman Shah, whose real name was Chowdhury Mohammad Shahriar, died 29 years ago. His death, initially recorded as an unnatural death, was turned into a murder case last year following a court order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a prolonged legal battle, Salman Shah\u2019s maternal uncle and film director Alimger Hossain Kunkum filed the case with Ramna Police Station in Dhaka on October 21 last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case names 11 people as accused, including Salman Shah\u2019s wife Samira Haque, mother-in-law Latifa Haque Lucy, businessman Aziz Mohammad Bhai, owner of Olympic Industries, and actor Mohammad Ashraful Haque, alias Don.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three others,David, Javed and Faruk, were also named as accused, with their addresses listed as the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in Dhaka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other accused are Rezvi Ahmed of Faridpur; Ruby; A Sattar; and Saju.
