{"id":35735,"date":"2026-07-30T19:19:26","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T19:19:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=35735"},"modified":"2026-07-30T19:19:27","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T19:19:27","slug":"doctors-support-key-to-strengthening-health-sector-fakhrul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=35735","title":{"rendered":"Doctors' support key to strengthening health sector: Fakhrul"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the active cooperation of doctors is essential to building a stronger and more people-oriented healthcare system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister made the remarks as the chief guest while addressing the First Health Cadre Day 2026 programme, organized by the BCS Health Cadre Association at a city hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fakhrul said the number of doctors in the country remains inadequate compared to the size of the population.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, shortages of personnel and infrastructure at government hospitals have made it difficult to ensure the desired standard of healthcare services, he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, he stressed that the government and medical professionals must work together to make the health sector more effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister said the government aims to eliminate the irregularities that have long plagued the health sector and establish a modern, people-friendly healthcare system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To achieve this goal, he urged doctors serving at the upazila and district levels to remain at their assigned workplaces and provide responsible and dedicated healthcare services to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emphasizing the importance of ensuring a safe working environment for doctors, Fakhrul said that the government would give due consideration to the legitimate demands of medical professionals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also assured them of his continued support in advancing the health sector and addressing the challenges faced by doctors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the active cooperation of doctors is essential to building a stronger and more people-oriented healthcare system.
