State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj today said that in line with the government's election manifesto and the education vision of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the country's education system will be developed in a way that enables students to grow into global citizens while also acquiring the skills necessary for their future careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He made the remarks at a view exchange meeting organized by the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on expanding music, dance and cultural education in primary schools, developing a new curriculum and producing skilled teachers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teachers and experts from the music, dance, drama and fine arts departments of various universities across the country took part in the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state minister said that the expansion of music, dance and sports-based education at the primary level would create a significant demand for specialized teachers and instructors in the future. This would open new employment opportunities for the graduates in music, dance, fine arts, drama and sports, while also establishing sustainable career pathways in these fields, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He projected that approximately 50,000 to 60,000 new jobs would be created in the sector over the next five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seeking cooperation from the universities, Bobby Hajjaj said, \u201cWe want your students to have the opportunity to join primary schools as teachers in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further said that the government aims to establish music, drama and dance not merely as extracurricular activities but as important components of students\u2019 overall development. Alongside the curriculum reform, plans are already being formulated to ensure the development of qualified teachers in these disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was attended by the secretary of the ministry Md Sakhwat Hoosain and chairpersons of relevant departments from 24 universities and other ministry officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the ministry, the Arts and Culture based textbook for Grade 4, scheduled to be introduced in 2027, will include four chapters covering fine and applied arts, music, dance and drama.
