{"id":34604,"date":"2026-06-04T14:12:30","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T14:12:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=34604"},"modified":"2026-06-04T14:37:21","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T14:37:21","slug":"govt-to-hold-roadshow-to-attract-investment-in-closed-unprofitable-factories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=34604","title":{"rendered":"Govt to hold roadshow to attract investment in closed, unprofitable factories"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government will soon organize roadshows to attract local and foreign investments in closed and unprofitable state-owned factories.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision was taken today at a meeting on the reopening and management of factories under the Ministry of Industries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Tarique Rahman chaired the meeting at his Cabinet Division office in the Bangladesh Secretariat here this morning, said Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan (Hasan Shiplu).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, the concerned authorities have been instructed to complete necessary preparations regarding the roadshow within the current month of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the meeting, Shiplu said, senior officials of different institutions under the Ministry of Industries presented detailed reports on the current condition, challenges, prospects and required measures relating to the closed and unprofitable factories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directed the authorities concerned to identify effective ways to quickly reopen closed factories and turn unprofitable factories into profitable ones, he added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shiplu also said that the Prime Minister also placed special emphasis on attracting both domestic and foreign investments to these factories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Concerned officials informed the meeting that recommendations from an expert committee are being taken to reopen closed factories and make unprofitable factories profitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commerce and Industries Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, Prime Minister's Adviser for Finance and Planning Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun and Prime Minister's Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar were present at the meeting, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government will soon organize roadshows to attract local and foreign investments in closed and unprofitable state-owned factories.&nbsp; The decision was taken today at a meeting on the reopening and management of factories under the Ministry of Industries.&nbsp; Prime Minister Tarique Rahman chaired the meeting at his Cabinet Division office in the Bangladesh Secretariat here [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":34639,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1,93],"tags":[47],"class_list":["post-34604","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-bangladesh","category-nationwide","tag-47"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
