The first meeting of the House Committee of the\u00a013th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) was held today at the JS Bhaban with its Committee\u00a0Chairman and Chief Whip Md Nurul Islam in the chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Committee members Rakibul Islam, Miah Nuruddin Ahmad Apu, Mohamed Koysor\u00a0Ahmed, Md Shohidul Islam, Nayab Yusuf Ahmed, SM Jahangir Hossain, Md Saiful\u00a0Alam and Md Abul Hasnat attended the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting discussed various issues including Rules 250 and 251 of the Rules\u00a0of Procedure of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad and related matters, progress\u00a0of civil, electrical\/mechanical and wood workshop renovation works of MPs'\u00a0residential buildings located at Manik Mia Avenue and Nakhalpara, renovation\u00a0of 156 office rooms at MP Hostel in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, and ensuring 24-hour\u00a0emergency medical services for Members of Parliament through adequate\u00a0deployment of specialist doctors and medical officers at the Parliament\u00a0Medical Centre, said a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Discussions were also held on strengthening round-the-clock security\u00a0arrangements at the flats located at Manik Mia Avenue and Nakhalpara and\u00a0posting necessary manpower to the Members' Building Branch following previous\u00a0practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting offered prayers seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of\u00a0the wife of the Speaker of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad and prayed for\u00a0strength for the bereaved family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Special prayers were also offered seeking blessings of Almighty Allah for the\u00a0successful journey of the new parliament and the welfare of the people of\u00a0Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The committee directed the authorities concerned to complete furniture\u00a0making, repair and necessary renovation of MPs' residential buildings as\u00a0quickly as possible while ensuring quality standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The committee also recommended the committee formed to identify sound system\u00a0problems in the parliament session hall to submit its report with\u00a0recommendations by April 3, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To modernize the Parliament Medical Centre and expand healthcare services,\u00a0the meeting recommended deployment of cardiac specialists, procurement of\u00a0medical equipment, ICU ambulance, freezer ambulance for dead bodies and\u00a0procurement of medicines from reputed companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Engineer, Additional Chief Engineer, officials of the Public Works\u00a0Department, Additional Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat, Sergeant-at-Arms and other concerned officials were present at the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
