Minister for Education and Primary and\u00a0Mass Education ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said the government is\u00a0considering necessary changes to the digital transfer system of primary\u00a0school teachers to make the process more balanced and responsive to local\u00a0needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responding to a query from Dewan Mohammod Salahuddin from Dhaka-19\u00a0constituency in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS), he acknowledged the importance of\u00a0the issue and thanked the lawmaker for raising it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the question-and-answer session, the Education Minister said that in\u00a0the past there was no provision allowing primary school teachers to be\u00a0transferred outside their respective areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, he said the previous government introduced a computerised system for\u00a0teachers' transfers.

Under the system, Milon, also the Primary and Mass Education Minister, said\u00a0transfers are processed based on the instructions generated through the\u00a0digital platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since Savar is part of greater Dhaka, many teachers from different parts of\u00a0the country seek transfers there through the application system, he said,\u00a0adding, \"To address this issue, we need to incorporate some reservation\u00a0mechanisms within the digital system.\"\u00a0

The government is currently reviewing the matter and discussions have already\u00a0begun on making adjustments to the computer programme so that a larger\u00a0proportion of teachers posted in a locality come from that area, while\u00a0allowing a limited number from outside, the minister continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"We are examining how the allocation process can be modified to ensure that\u00a0most of the teachers are from the respective locality, while maintaining a\u00a0small portion from outside,\" he told the House.

Taking the floor during the question-and-answer session, Dewan Mohammod\u00a0Salahuddin said that according to the current policy, teachers working in\u00a0government primary schools should primarily be posted within their local\u00a0areas, particularly when vacancies arise due to retirement.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the rules stipulate that when positions fall vacant, preference\u00a0should be given to teachers who are residents of the respective areas, have\u00a0provided a local address during recruitment and are registered voters there.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
