The government has decided to carry out campaigns at all universities, colleges, schools and madrasahs across the country to encourage students to cast \u2018Yes\u2019 vote in the forthcoming referendum slated to be held on February 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Secondary and Higher Education Division and the Technical and Madrasah Education Division of the Ministry of Education, the National University (NU) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) at the UGC office in the city this afternoon, said the Chief Adviser\u2019s Press Wing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Adviser\u2019s special assistants Professor Dr Ali Riaz and Monir Haidar, UGC Chairman Professor Dr SMA Faiz, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Rehana Perven, Technical and Madrasah Education Division Secretary Muhammad Rafiqul, NU Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah and UGC Member Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan joined the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the campaign, leaflets and booklets titled \u2018Yes for Change\u2019 will be distributed among students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, documentaries, video clips and songs produced on the referendum will be released through mobile platforms and university social media platforms. Banners, festoons and stickers will also be displayed at universities and colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the meeting, Chief Adviser\u2019s Special Assistant Dr Ali Riaz said that the upcoming referendum will reflect the aspiration to dismantle the fascist state structure and establish a truly democratic system through state reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said there is no alternative to the \u2018Yes\u2019 vote in the referendum to establish a humane and democratic state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
