BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has said BNP\u2019s founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia have made extraordinary contributions to the welfare of working class people.
\u201cShaheed President Ziaur Rahman declared himself as a 'worker' honoring and dignifying all of us. Today we have paid deep respect to both of them and prayed for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nazrul Islam Khan said this while paying homage at the grave of Begum Khaleda Zia along with the leaders of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal and its Dhaka Mohanagar North and South units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nazrul said, the labour laws that existed since the British period were contradictory. In 2006, Begum Khaleda Zia first formulated and approved the Bangladesh Labour Code. Today, a single labour law governs the labour movement and labour-related state affairs.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Begum Khaleda Zia established the Labour Welfare Foundation for the welfare of working class people. Today, fund of the foundation are being used for welfare of the distressed workers, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
