As the sole youth delegate representing Bangladesh, Ifrat joined ministers, diplomats, and young changemakers from across the globe to shape conversations on the future of global trade, sustainability, and inclusive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The week-long ministerial conference, themed \u201cShaping a Fairer, Greener and More Digital Future,\u201d explored how nations can collaborate to build an economy that leaves no one behind. Ifrat\u2019s participation symbolized the growing strength of youth leadership in the Global South a reminder that young voices are not just the future but active architects of the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout the conference, Ifrat engaged in high-level discussions on climate-smart trade, digital transformation, and the challenges facing least developed countries (LDCs). He shared insights from his work as a UPG Sustainability Leader 2025 and Communication Coordinator at Mission Green Bangladesh, emphasizing how youth-led innovation can bridge global gaps in sustainability and equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his time in Geneva, Ifrat met with UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan, Nahida Sobhan, Bangladesh\u2019s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, and Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce. He also interacted with representatives from the French Embassy and the Permanent Mission of France, strengthening networks for future collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking about the experience, Ifrat reflected:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cStanding in the UN Assembly Hall and sharing Bangladesh\u2019s story with the world was surreal. Every dialogue reminded me that youth leadership isn\u2019t just about participation it\u2019s about shaping solutions that last.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to UNCTAD16, Ifrat was invited to visit the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Headquarters a global nexus of innovation and creativity. There, he witnessed firsthand how intellectual property drives sustainability, entrepreneurship, and global cooperation. \u201cAt WIPO, I saw how imagination, when protected and valued, becomes the currency of the future,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Geneva experience was more than diplomatic participation it was a personal and cultural journey. From heartfelt exchanges with global youth to late-night discussions under the Swiss sky, Ifrat\u2019s time in Geneva captured the spirit of connection, learning, and shared purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery friendship, every idea, every moment reminded me that passion and purpose can cross any border,\u201d he said. \u201cThis journey wasn\u2019t just about representing Bangladesh it was about reimagining what our generation can achieve together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
