Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Md Shafiqur Rahman\u00a0has called for deepening economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Nepal\u00a0through enhanced trade, connectivity, and investment in joint ventures,\u00a0
particularly in the sectors of energy and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The envoy made the remarks this afternoon during a meeting with members of\u00a0the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) led by NCC Chairman Kamlesh Kumar\u00a0Agarwal, cording to a message receive here.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on how to further strengthen\u00a0bilateral trade and economic relations by addressing existing bottlenecks and\u00a0promoting mutually beneficial opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ambassador Rahman underscored the importance of expanding trade and market\u00a0access, improving connectivity, and facilitating investment in joint ventures\u00a0across key regional sectors.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He highlighted the potential of Bangladesh's sea ports to serve as gateways\u00a0for Nepali goods and emphasized the mutual benefits of leveraging Nepal's\u00a0hydroelectric resources for the wider South Asian region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said Bangladesh and Nepal could work together to build a strong regional\u00a0value chain in agriculture, industry and services, including food production,\u00a0agri-business, fish processing, and food security, to unlock new areas of\u00a0collaboration under regional frameworks such as SAARC, BBIN, and BIMSTEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"The Embassy is committed to acting as a bridge for the business communities\u00a0of both countries and to advocating for policies that enhance bilateral trade\u00a0and investment,\" Rahman assured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NCC Chairman Kamlesh Kumar Agarwal, while welcoming the Ambassador, briefed\u00a0on the Chamber's long-standing contributions to promoting trade and commerce\u00a0over its 75-year history.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He raised issues concerning the current trade imbalance between the two\u00a0countries, noting that closer cooperation and better regional connectivity\u00a0could help rebalance trade in the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
