Two Special Assistants to the Chief Adviser today visited injured BUET student Syed Shadid Nasif at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) this evening and inquired about his treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, Chief Adviser\u2019s Special Assistants Sheikh Moinuddin and Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb expressed solidarity with Shadid's family, said a press release issued by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing this evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shadid, a student of BUET\u2019s 2020 batch, is currently receiving treatment at the hospital\u2019s emergency unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit of the CA's special representatives, Shadid's parents, sister, and several relatives were present there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the release, in the presence of the representatives, Shadid\u2019s mother became emotional and appealed for assurances that no further use of force would be inflicted upon any students, including her son in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The representatives expressed regret over the incident and highlighted that, for the first time in Bangladesh\u2019s history, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner has expressed sorrow in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They talked to all family members of Shadid and inquired about his treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shadid's father is a college teacher in Rangpur while his sister is a student of Dhaka University (DU). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation assured the family of extending full medical support and said if necessary, they will also help access to advanced treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A duty doctor informed the delegation that Shadid\u2019s surgery had been successfully completed and his condition is currently stable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the doctor noted that the next five days are very crucial. After this period, based on the healing of his stitches, doctors would decide whether to transfer him to the ICU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On behalf of the Chief Adviser and chief of the committee to address grievances of graduate engineers Fouzul Kabir Khan, the delegation conveyed sympathy to the family of Shadid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two special assistants to the Chief Adviser also thanked doctors, nurses, and support staff for their dedicated service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, the delegation met with several of Shadid\u2019s batchmates from the BUET and organizers of the ongoing engineers\u2019 rights movement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting emphasized the importance of standing by Shadid\u2019s family, while students also drew attention to the need for a fair and peaceful resolution of graduate engineers\u2019 demands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
