{"id":29573,"date":"2025-08-17T15:19:21","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T15:19:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=29573"},"modified":"2025-08-17T15:19:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T15:19:22","slug":"rajshahi-suicide-over-debt-needs-to-be-investigated-finance-adviser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=29573","title":{"rendered":"Rajshahi suicide over debt needs to be investigated: Finance Adviser"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SAVAR : Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed on Saturday said the suicide in Rajshahi over debt is unfortunate and it should be investigated with utmost importance, reports UNB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said this while talking to reporters after attending the 66<sup>th<\/sup> board meeting at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe need to see whether the person who committed suicide in Rajshahi had taken the loan from a bank or an NGO and whether any pressure was given to him. The matter will be investigated to ensure that no one suffers because of loans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reposing to a question over advisers\u2019 wealth, he said the wealth statements of advisers were submitted long ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThose raising questions now should understand that discussing it at this stage is of no use. I submitted mine a long time ago,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding customers\u2019 FDRs and deposits in private banks, the adviser said, \u201cDeposits made in any bank under proper procedures are protected and there are strict policies to ensure the safety of such funds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cabinet Secretary Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Dr Mokhlesur Rahman and Finance Secretary Dr Khairuzzaman Majumdar, among others, attended the event. &nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SAVAR : Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed on Saturday said the suicide in Rajshahi over debt is unfortunate and it should be investigated with utmost importance, reports UNB.
