{"id":28807,"date":"2025-05-28T15:42:56","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T15:42:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=28807"},"modified":"2025-05-28T15:43:02","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T15:43:02","slug":"bangladeshi-film-to-premiere-at-rai-film-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=28807","title":{"rendered":"Bangladeshi film to premiere at RAI Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TBT REPORT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bangladeshi filmmaker Nibras Bin Sayed<strong>\u2019<\/strong>s debut film <strong>\u201c<\/strong>On Margate Sands<strong>\u201d<\/strong> is set to have its world premiere at the 19<sup>th<\/sup> Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI) Film Festival\u2014one of the leading global platforms for ethnographic and anthropological cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Produced in the UK as part of Sayed<strong>\u2019<\/strong>s MA in Film with Practice at the University of Kent, the film will be screened on June 14 at the Watershed Cinema in Bristol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201c<\/strong>On Margate Sands<strong>\u201d<\/strong> will compete in the Wiley Blackwell Student Film Prize category and will be featured under the festival section titled <strong>\u201c<\/strong>Landscape Symphonies<strong>\u201d<\/strong>, exploring themes of landscape and memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The RAI Film Festival, marking its 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary this year, will host in-person events from June 11\u201315 and online programmes from June 16\u2013July 16. An academic conference will also be held virtually from July 1\u20134.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Expressing his excitement, Sayed said, <strong>\u201c<\/strong>I am absolutely over the moon to share that <strong>\u2018<\/strong>On Margate Sands<strong>\u2019<\/strong> will have its world premiere at the RAI Film Festival.
