{"id":28037,"date":"2025-04-28T14:27:04","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T14:27:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=28037"},"modified":"2025-04-28T14:27:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T14:27:10","slug":"sonali-papers-profit-sees-3-6-times-growth-in-jul-mar-period","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=28037","title":{"rendered":"Sonali Paper's profit sees 3.6 times growth in Jul-Mar period"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Staff Correspondent:<\/strong> Sonali Paper and Board Mills, a concern of Younus Group, reported a significant profit growth of 3.6 times, or 263%, in profit to Tk21.50 crore in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.<br>According to its financial statement, approved at the board meeting held on Sunday, the profit was recorded during the July-March period of FY25, up from Tk5.91 crore in the same period a year earlier.<br>Sonali Paper's earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk6.53, compared to Tk1.80 during the corresponding period of FY24.<br>Meanwhile, the publicly traded company's net profit stood at Tk 3.44 crore in the last three months (Jan-Mar'25), which was a loss of Tk 11.8 crore in the same period of the last year.<br>During the period, the company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk1.05, compared to a loss per share of Tk3.60 a year ago. Its net asset value per share was Tk167.62 as of March 2025.<br>Sonali Paper's company secretary, Md. Rashedul Hossain, said that during the period, sales and revenue of the company have increased, and as a result, net profit and EPS have also increased compared to the period ended 31 March 2024.<br>During the period, the company procured more quantity of raw materials for this reason. Net operating cash flows have decreased in comparison with the previous period ended 31 March 2025.<br>For FY25, the company has disbursed a 40% cash dividend for its shareholders.<br>As of 31 March 2025, the company's shareholding structure comprised 67.51% held by sponsors and directors, 5.85% owned by institutions, and 26.64% held by the public.<br>A concern of the Younus Group of Industries, Sonali Paper has been operational since 1977, focusing on the production of paper and board products.
