The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)\u00a0today issued a set of instructions to maintain discipline on the roads\u00a0through controlling traffic and nagging traffic snarls.\u00a0

In a statement signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali requested\u00a0the city dwellers to comply with the traffic guideline to make the Eid\u00a0journey of the home-goers safe, smooth and comfortable.\u00a0

\u201cAll drivers of vehicles and city residents are requested to comply with\u00a0the following instructions. We seek everyone's cooperation in this\u00a0regard,\u201d the DMP chief said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following are the DMP traffic instructions: \u00a0\u00a0
(a) The movement of trucks, covered vans and lorries on the highways\u00a0will be stopped from 25-03-2025 to 28-03-2025 and for three days after\u00a0Eid. However, vehicles carrying daily essential food items, perishable\u00a0goods, garments, medicines, fertilizers and fuel will be exempted from\u00a0this. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(b) One-way traffic from Abdullahpur to Dhaur\/Ashulia;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(c) Arrangement of only outgoing traffic through BRT lanes; In view of the above decision, traffic will be restricted on the following\u00a0roads from 25-03-2025 until the night before Eid:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(1) All types of vehicles will ply on the road from Abdullahpur in Uttara on\u00a0Dhaka-Ashulia highway via Kamarpara to Dhaur Bridge (one-way) only\u00a0for exiting Dhaka metropolis. Vehicles that will enter Dhaka via Ashulia\u00a0Dhaur-Kamarpara-Abdullahpur on the said road will enter Gabtoli\/other\u00a0areas via Ashulia Dhaur-Panchabati and Mirpur Beribandh Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(2) All types of vehicles will be allowed to move from Dhaka towards\u00a0Joydevpur intersection in the two lanes of the Airport to Gazipur Bus\u00a0Rapid Transit (BRT) project on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway only for\u00a0exiting Dhaka (one-way diversion). No vehicles will be allowed to come\u00a0towards Dhaka (incoming) through the said BRT entry lane into Dhaka.\u00a0Vehicles on other lanes of the highway will operate normally as before.\u00a0BRT vehicles heading towards Dhaka will arrive in Dhaka on normal\u00a0roads\/lanes along with other vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(3) From the above date, in order to facilitate the movement of vehicles\u00a0related to Eid journey, other vehicles are requested to avoid the following\u00a0roads and use alternative roads except for urgent needs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1) Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway (Airport to Abdullahpur)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2) Dhaka-Chittagong Highway (Jatrabari to Signboard)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3) Purbachal Expressway (300 feet road)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4) Dhaka-Aricha Highway (Mirpur Road: Shyamoli to Gabtoli)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5) Dhaka-Keraniganj Road (Phulbaria to Tatibazar to Babubazar Bridge)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6) Dhaka-Mawa Highway (Jatrabari to Buriganga Bridge)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7) Mohammadpur Basila Crossing to Basila Bridge Road<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8) Abdullahpur to Dhow Bridge Road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
