{"id":27261,"date":"2025-03-09T11:51:06","date_gmt":"2025-03-09T11:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=27261"},"modified":"2025-03-09T11:51:07","modified_gmt":"2025-03-09T11:51:07","slug":"hc-for-completing-magura-child-rape-trial-in-180-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=27261","title":{"rendered":"HC for completing Magura child rape trial in 180 days"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The High Court (HC) today ordered authorities\u00a0concerned to complete the trial of the case filed over the barbaric rape of a\u00a0child in Magura, within 180 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A High Court division bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debasish Roy\u00a0Chowdhury passed the order, asking the Women and Children Repression\u00a0Prevention Tribunal concerned to execute the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The court also asked the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission\u00a0(BTRC) to remove all the photos of the eight-year-old rape victim from all\u00a0types of media including social media platforms within 24-hour.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also asked the authorities concerned to appoint two social welfare\u00a0officers, one in Dhaka and one in Magura, to supervise the protection and\u00a0medical care of both the child and her 14-year old elder sister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The High Court came up with the order after holding a hearing on a writ filed\u00a0by Barrister HamidulMisbah and Barrister Mahsib Hossain. The two petitioners\u00a0along with Barrister Mithun Roy Chowdhury moved the plea before the court\u00a0while Deputy Attorney General Tanim Khan stood for the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim's mother filed the case, accusing the husband of her elder\u00a0daughter and his father to rape his eight-year old younger daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mother of her accused son-in-law and his elder brother knew about the\u00a0horrific crimes and they tried to cover this by confining the victim and her\u00a0sister separately in two houses after rape and even tried to kill the victim,\u00a0according to the case story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The High Court (HC) today ordered authorities\u00a0concerned to complete the trial of the case filed over the barbaric rape of a\u00a0child in Magura, within 180 days.
