Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who is now in London, has strongly condemned the attack on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"The attack on Bangladesh's assistant high commission in Agartala by members of an organization called 'Hindu Sangharsh Samity' is believed to have been pre-planned,\" he said in a statement issued today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BNP Joint Office Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu sent the statement to the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The senior BNP leader said that bringing down the national flag of Bangladesh, setting it on fire and vandalizing the office of the assistant high commission after entering it, is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fakhrul opined that using hatred in Bangladesh -- as a tactic for Indian internal politics -- will create a long-term tension in the relations between the two neighboring countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He requested the Indian government and its people to look into the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
