{"id":25712,"date":"2024-10-26T18:47:44","date_gmt":"2024-10-26T18:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=25712"},"modified":"2024-10-26T18:47:46","modified_gmt":"2024-10-26T18:47:46","slug":"tabith-awal-made-new-bff-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=25712","title":{"rendered":"Tabith Awal made new BFF president\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tabith Awal has been elected as the new president\u00a0of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) following a landslide victory in the\u00a0BFF polls today held at InterContinental Dhaka hotel ballroom in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A businessman and two-time former BFF vice-president, Tabith secured highest\u00a0123 votes while grassroots level sports organiser from Dinajpur district AFM\u00a0Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury got five votes during the elections, confirmed BFF's\u00a0chief election commissioner Mezbah Uddin Ahmed.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Among 133 votes, 128 voters casted their votes, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The election started at 2 pm and continued till 6 pm without any break after\u00a0the elective congress held at the same venue in the morning.<br>\u00a0<br>With this election, Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin's 16 years reign came to an end.\u00a0The legendary former footballer became president of the BFF for the first\u00a0time in 2008 and on September 14 last, he announced that he would not contest\u00a0for the fifth term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of 45 candidates are competing for the 21 posts of the BFF executive\u00a0committee- two for the president, six for four vice presidents, and 37 for 15\u00a0executive committee members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, incumbent BFF vice president Imrul Hasan has been elected in the\u00a0post of senior vice president unopposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platform-cdn.sharethis.com\/img\/facebook.svg\" alt=\"facebook sharing button\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platform-cdn.sharethis.com\/img\/messenger.svg\" alt=\"messenger sharing button\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platform-cdn.sharethis.com\/img\/twitter.svg\" alt=\"twitter sharing button\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platform-cdn.sharethis.com\/img\/whatsapp.svg\" alt=\"whatsapp sharing button\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tabith Awal has been elected as the new president\u00a0of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) following a landslide victory in the\u00a0BFF polls today held at InterContinental Dhaka hotel ballroom in the capital.
