{"id":25158,"date":"2024-08-13T12:04:34","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T12:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=25158"},"modified":"2024-08-13T12:04:35","modified_gmt":"2024-08-13T12:04:35","slug":"murder-case-filed-against-hasina-six-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebangladeshtoday.com\/?p=25158","title":{"rendered":"Murder case filed against Hasina, six others"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A case has been filed against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and six others on murder charges in Mohammadpur area under an order by Dhaka\u2019s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case was filed over the death of grocery shop owner Abu Saiyed in police firing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other accused are: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former DB chief Harun ar rashid, former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman and former DMP joint commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is first case filed against Sheikh Hasina after she resigned and left Bangladesh to India on August 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amir Hamza Shatil, a resident of Mohammadpur, filed an application to file a murder case with the Court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury against Sheikh Hasina and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After scrutinizing the documents submitted before the court, the judge asked the officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station to register the complaint as a First Information Report (FIR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his complaint, Shatil mentioned that Abu Sayeed was killed at 4 pm on July 19 when police was shooting indiscriminately at students and common people during the quota reform protests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A case has been filed against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and six others on murder charges in Mohammadpur area under an order by Dhaka\u2019s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.
