Janhvi rules out wedding for next 2-3 years

Actress Janhvi Kapoor has opened up about her relationship with boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya, revealing that marriage is still at least two to three years away. Speaking on Koffee With Karan 9, she discussed their relationship, why she does not want to hide it completely and the support he showed her during a difficult time.

According to media, Janhvi made it clear that she was not planning to marry in the immediate future, saying she would not tie the knot “for another two, three years for sure”.

She also explained why she prefers to keep some parts of her personal life private without concealing her relationship altogether. Responding to host Karan Johar’s observation that she and Shikhar had stayed together while several other celebrity couples had separated, Janhvi said they had stood by each other through their respective break-ups with other people.

“We managed with each other even through our own separate break-ups with other people. So we’re very good at it. I’ve always thought about why everyone’s so cagey about this. Obviously, I don’t want nazar and I don’t want to be overly explicit about what’s happening in my personal life, but also I don’t think people give that much of a f**k for us. I just think it’s overrated to be like, ‘let no one ever know ever.’ It’s just kind of boring to be tiptoeing around and it’s not a big deal,” she said.

During the conversation, Johar also recalled seeing Shikhar at the funeral of Janhvi’s mother, actor Sridevi. Although the couple were not dating at the time, his presence and reaction made Johar feel that Shikhar held a special place in her life.

Janhvi revealed that Shikhar had travelled from London to Mumbai after learning about Sridevi’s death. He took a break from his studies and stayed at a friend’s home in Juhu for a month.

He did not meet Janhvi every day. Instead, he wanted to remain nearby in case she needed support. Janhvi said she learnt later why he had made the trip. She added that his caring nature becomes apparent even to people who meet him briefly.

Janhvi and Shikhar have known each other for years. Their relationship has had its ups and downs, with the two separating before eventually getting back together.
