Coke Studio Bangla has become one of the most popular platforms for Bengali music, attracting widespread interest with every new release from its fusion-based musical lineup. Now, the platform is stepping beyond the studio and into university campuses, bringing students a special competition and live concerts.
The inter-university competition, titled Coke Studio Bangla on Campus, has kicked off at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT). It will gradually reach other universities across the country. The three universities securing the highest number of votes will each host a special Coke Studio Bangla concert on their campuses.
Launched on October 26, the competition will continue until December 1. Students from more than 15 universities across Bangladesh are expected to participate in music-related activities, voting and campus-based contests.
According to Coke Studio Bangla, students must follow a specific process to participate. Those who purchase Coca-Cola, Sprite or Fanta from their respective campus canteens will receive a scratch card containing a unique code. They can use the code on the campaign microsite to cast a vote for their university.
A live leaderboard will allow participants to track the competition’s progress. The three universities receiving the highest number of votes will each get the opportunity to host a special Coke Studio Bangla concert on campus.
Beyond voting, Coke Studio Bangla on Campus will also give students a platform to showcase their musical talents through an initiative titled Find the Next Campus Performer.
As part of the initiative, students can visit a dedicated Coke Studio Bangla recording kiosk on their campus and record a cover performance of any song from the platform. They must then share the recording on social media and tag Coke Studio Bangla.
After submitting the video link through the campaign website, students will be considered for the opportunity to perform at their university’s campus concert. The selected performer from each winning university will be chosen based on the quality of their performance and the highest social media engagement.
Layla Farzana, marketing director of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Limited, said, “Coke Studio Bangla has always brought people together through music and celebrated talent. Through Coke Studio Bangla on Campus, we want to bring that experience closer to young people and give them the opportunity to participate in it in their own way.”
Coke Studio Bangla launched in Bangladesh in 2022. Since then, its YouTube channel has surpassed four million subscribers, while its songs have accumulated more than 750 million views.
