Bangladesh paceman Taskin Ahmed, who was nursing an injury had been keen to feature in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) upon recovery so that he could prove his worth to the national team ahead of the World Cup in May. The speedster was taken in by Legends of Rupganj and will take the field from Wednesday.

Taskin was listed in the players’ draft but due to his injury, he was not drafted in by any of the sides. Legends of Rupganj, who are flying high at the top of the table, with their Super Six entry almost guaranteed, confirmed of Taskin’s inclusion. The speedster said it was a dream to be back to playing cricket.

“This is my dream and this is what I have been working hard on. Thankful to the Almighty that I got the permission. God willing, I will be able to play from tomorrow. Asking for prayers from everybody.

“There is a match tomorrow . I bowled in three sessions with a full run-up. There was no problem and I am confident about my fitness. I am feeling well,” Taskin said.

Rupganj will play against Uttara Sporting Club tomorrow at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
