Deputy Leader of Parliament and Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Matia Chowdhury today said the parliamentary elections will be held in due time in the constitutional process. 

“Many people are talking about the election… the country has a democracy, so elections will be held in due course of constitutional process,” she told a discussion here. 

“Sheikh Hasina is not a person who came to power through the back door,” Matia told the discussion at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) marking the 14th death anniversary of renowned nuclear scientist with international repute, Dr MA Wazed Miah. 

Bangabandhu Dustha Kalyan Sangstha organized the discussion. 

Paying tribute to late Wazed Mia’s memory, she said Wazed Mia was a scientist at heart and mind. He was always vigilant for the country and nation, Matia added. 

She said, “Wazed Mia was very good-natured, modest and humble person… the younger generation should learn from his life.” 

Deputy Minister for Water Resources Enamul Haque Shamim said MA Wazed Mia was a simple man although he was very close to power. His life and work should be conveyed to the new generation of students, he added.
