4 dead as microbus catches fire in Mymensingh
Four people, including two women, were burnt to death and seven others sustained injuries as a microbus overturned and caught fire in the Rangamati area under Trishal upazila here early today.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
When the microbus was heading towards Dhaka from Dhobaura upazila at around 2 am, it overturned in the Rangamati area and caught fire, leaving four passengers dead and seven others injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Trishal police station Mohammad Maeen Uddin said.
Later, a team of firefighters went to the spot and doused the fire, said Abul Kalam, station officer of Trishal Fire Service Station.
“They recovered four charred bodies from inside the microbus,” he said.
The injured persons are undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, the OC added.
